Sheikh Hamdan shares the first photo of his newborn twins Rashid and Sheikha

Following the announcement that he was now the father of twins, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, shared a photo of himself with the newborns.

The Crown Prince and his wife, Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum named their newborn baby boy Rashid – the same name as Sheikh Hamdan’s grandfather – and their baby girl Sheikha, the same name as her mother.

Sheikh Hamdan took to Instagram to share with his 11.6 million followers a photo of himself, a proud father, holding his newborn twins.

“To God…Praise be to God and blessings,” he captioned the image.

Having posted the photo on Friday evening, the photo has now received over one million likes and has received a flurry of comments from the public as well as fellow members of Sheikh Hamdan’s family.

Announcing the arrival of twins

To announce the arrival of the twins, Sheikh Hamdan shared a photo on Instagram with his 11.6 million followers of a blue foot and a pink foot.

Congratulations on the arrival of the two new babies was shared on social media by many of Sheikh Hamdan’s siblings including Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Her Highness Sheikha Maryam.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Interior and Deputy Prime Minister, also shared his congratulations on Twitter.

“I congratulate my brother His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for the arrival of his two children (Rashid and Sheikha),” he said. “Oh God, save them with your protection … and make them the apple of the eye of their parents.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s sons married two years ago in 2019.

Sheikh Hamdan and his two brothers His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum all got married in an Islamic ceremony in May 2019.
