With several projects ready to catapult in the new year, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has shared that these initiatives will help boost the country’s business and trade environment.

As the 40th Gitex Technology Week at the Dubai World Trade Centre began this week, leading global organisations have come together to demonstrate how technology will shape the future despite worldwide disruptions. From flying car concepts to 5G speed testings, the forum is a playground for new innovation.

The Ruler of Dubai declared that due to the advancements in the UAE, he believes the country will see some rapid recovery post-pandemic.

“Gitex will be the most important and realistic global technical event in 2020 and the UAE will be the fastest country to recover in the world,” the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE said in an announcement on Twitter.

“The event will have the participation of 200 important technology investment companies and 350 speakers in artificial intelligence, smart cities, financial technology, the future of education and health, and the future of remote work.”

Next year will be a significant year for the UAE as the country celebrates its 50th anniversary. Come October the Dubai Expo 2020 will also take place after being delayed by a year due to the pandemic.
