After being closed for three months, museums and cultural sites in Abu Dhabi are preparing to reopen.
Per directives from the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), there will be strict guidelines in place in order to uphold public health and safety to contain the spread of coronavirus.
This includes social distancing measures with visitors needing to have two metres between one another; gloves and masks will be compulsory; and venues will be capped at 40 per cent capacity.

In addition, all touch screens must be removed from museums and cultural sites, and all workshops, programmes and tours are suspended.
As for employees of various sites in the UAE capital, staff members must undergo a COVID-19 test with a negative result. Similarly, all venues must ensure there’s a dedicated room for isolation for any suspected coronavirus cases.
While the DCT has announced these preparations, no confirmed reopening date for Abu Dhabi cultural sites and museums has been confirmed.
