Collecting results of coronavirus tests

If you want to keep a closer eye on the spread of coronavirus in your area, the new UAE app could help.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, Abu Dhabi Health Authority, and Dubai Health Authority have come together to launch ALHOSN UAE app, available to download for free.

“We can contain this virus only if we all act together, each one giving the others protection and peace of mind,” said Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention in encouragement for all residents to download the app.

Named after a fort in Abu Dhabi, it is now the official digital platform for COVID-19 tests in the country. Combining the tech of the two previously released apps – Stay HOME and TRACE COVID – it works of bluetooth signals and applies the use of QR scan codes which will reveal the health status of users in the surrounding area.

Basically, you’ll be able to see if there is anyone nearby who has come into contact with patients that have been infected with coronavirus.

But don’t worry, you privacy is protected thanks to artificial intelligence.

In addition, you can check in on how your neighbours have been following the guidelines while self-isolating. Maybe you can even pick up some tips on how to stay extra safe during this time.

All in the aim to protect residents, it’s also a tool for health authorities to keep track of those who have come into contact with infected individuals.

ALHOSN UAE app is available for Android and iOS devices
