Jewellery designer Valerie Messika shares a self-isolation chocolate pie recipe

Valerie Messika needs no introduction. Her diamond jewellery has adorned the likes of Beyoncé, Cardi B, Charlize Theron, Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts, Lady Gaga and more.

Her motivation as she says is, “Waking up each morning with the same desire to imagine, create and dream. That’s what drives me. Messika is a story of passion, love and diamonds. Success is above all human.”

Well, it seems jewellery designing isn’t her only passion, baking is another hobby for her and admits one of her ultimate guilty pleasures is chocolate.

“I love chocolate, so when I found this recipe, I had to try it,” she says. “My daughters and I love to try new recipes together. It is a great time to enjoy quality family moments. This particular recipe was a great success in our household.”

Given that success, you can now share it with your own household, sharing her recipe for an indulgent chocolate pie.

Ingredients

  • 60g of ground almonds
  • 150g of sugar
  • 150g of flour
  • 150g of butter or vegetal margarine
  • 200g of chocolate (white or black)
  • 400ml of coconut milk

Method

1. Prepare the base of the pie.

2. Mix together all powder ingredients.

3. Mix the base until you can shape it into a ball.

4. Spread the base.

5. Place in the pie pan.

6. Put in the oven for 15 minutes.

Prepare the chocolate

1. While the base is in the oven, melt the chocolate.

2. Add in the coconut milk.

3. Once the mix is liquid, leave to rest for about 15 minutes.

4. Pour the chocolate to the base.

5. Put in the oven for 10 minutes.
