How to support #BlackoutTuesday beyond Instagram

It matters

If ever wanted to know what virtual global solidarity looks like, open you Instagram and see your feed filled with black posts.

From your close friends to campaigners and celebrities like Huda Kattan and Kylie Jenner, the world is coming together as one voice in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in police custody.

Today (June 2) has officially been taken over by the #BlackoutTuesday slogan on social media to highlight the racial injustice and social discrimination.

This is a very simple way to show your support for the much overdue change, just make sure that when you posy you only mention #BlackoutTuesday and avoid other Black Lives Matter hashtags which are used for important information.

You can also make your voice heard by singing Color of Change’s petition, and Change.org’s petition, donate to the GoFundMe set up by Floyd’s brother, donate towards achieving racial justice on The NAACP Legal Defense Fund, as well as Communities United Against Police Brutality.

We stand together
