Generous donation during hard times
An Emirati family has made an incredibly generous donation to the ongoing UAE coronavirus prevention efforts.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention expressed their thanks to the Emirati family’s Dhs5 million donation on their official Twitter page.
In their post, the ministry stated their “sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Emirati family for their support in the ongoing national efforts to contain COVID-19”.

Currently in the UAE there have been 153 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 38 of which have recovered and two of which have been fatal.
Last week, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, shared a message of hope to UAE citizens and residents amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic.
He also conveyed his heartfelt thanks to all those at the forefront of the battle against the spread of coronavirus in the UAE.
“We will get through the ongoing tough times and survive the myriad challenges we and the entire world are now experiencing,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said.
“We, in the UAE, are lucky, as our conditions are relatively better thanks to many factors, primarily the availability of qualified human cadres capable of efficiently shouldering the responsibility toward confronting the proliferation of the COVID-19.
“The UAE is faring well, all thanks to the early efforts and measures in place to face this virus.”
Suspensions and shut downs in the UAE
There have been many temporary shut downs and and events have been postponed in order to prevent the spreading of coronavirus.
As of Wednesday 25 March, all UAE malls are to close for the next two weeks with the decision subject to review and reassessment.
Cinemas, gyms, parks, bars, lounges, public and privates beaches and more have all been shut down. Prayers in public places of worship have also been suspended.
Restaurants are also no longer allowed to take customers, and can only stay open if they have a delivery option.
The UAE government has also urged everyone not to leave their homes, unless it’s “absolutely necessary” to get essential supplies like food and medicine, or if you are person in an essential job.
Last night a join statement was issued by the Ministry of Interior and the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority telling all UAE citizens, residents, vistors and everyone living in the country to follow the guidelines that have been issued: limit social interactions and avoid going to crowded places.
