Dubai offices can now allow 50 per cent of their workforce to return

With the end of the long weekend marking the end of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr celebrations, it has been confirmed by Dubai Economy offices can begin to welcome back staff members as employees return to work.

Organisations are now allowed to increase the capacity of offices to 50 per cent from Wednesday, May 27. Capacity was previously capped at 30 per cent.

As part of precautionary measures all lifts need to have clear markings in order to outline the appropriate social distancing measures.

This announcement comes after it was confirmed movement restrictions in Dubai will be reduced from Wednesday May 27, 2020 – the curfew hours will change from 11pm to 6am, meaning people must stay home during these hours.

Per the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council unveiled the new plans starting this Wednesday in order for businesses to gradually reopen between the hours of 6am and 11pm.

Businesses allowed to open includes cinemas, gyms, training and educational centres, entertainment centres like Dubai Ice Rink and more. However, strict social distancing and other precautionary measures are in place for public health and safety reasons amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

As of Tuesday evening (May 26), there have been 31,086 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the UAE, with 15,982 having recovered and 253 fatalities.
