David and Victoria Beckham buy a penthouse in Zaha Hadid-designed building

New digs

While David and Victoria Beckham have been self-isolating with their kids in the British countryside — the Cotswolds to be precise — a deal on their latest property has finally been finalised.

The couple have purchased a penthouse in One Thousand Museum, a new Zaha Hadid-designed building in Miami. Although the exact price hasn’t been disclosed, the full floor space was on the market for $20 million (over Dhs73 million).

In contrast to their rustic house in the Cotswolds, the newest addition to their property portfolio is a futuristic space in the 62-storey tower. Accessed by a private lift, it consists of five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering impressive views over the city.

If they choose to mingle with other residents, which include Jennifer Lopez and Tommy Hilfiger, there are plenty of amenities to enjoy. They will have access to two-floor spa and wellness area that includes a gym, steam room and sauna. There are also restaurants, a theatre for private screenings, multiple pools, private safety deposit boxes inside a vault, and a rooftop helipad.

It is one of the final projects designed by famed architect Hadid before her death in 2016. She also lived part-time in Miami.

The Beckhams have been spending a lot of time in the city as David established a new Major League soccer team, Inter Miami. He is also building Miami Freedom Park stadium to serve as the team’s home base.

We expect a dazzling housewarming when they move in.
