Careem’s latest launch will make your time in self-isolation a lot easier

While lockdown is still is full swing amidst the coronavirus outbreak, deliveries have been on the rise.

Of course, there’s plenty of apps on the market offering delivery already, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more.

Well, now Dubai’s Careem has joined the party and is now offering a grocery and pharmacy delivery service.

Orders can be placed via the Careem NOW app, with deliveries being fulfilled within an hour.

The Dubai-based company has parterned with an umber of local retailers across the emirate from grocery stores, to pharamacies to coffee shops including: Lulu Hypermarket, 7-Eleven, 800-Pharmacy, Al Manara Pharmacy, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, The Pet Corner, The Coffee Souq, Julius Meinl Coffee, Al Dar Roastery, Rootz Organics, Al Douri Signature, Al Douri Mart, Supermarché, Narinport, Four Seasons Pharmacy and more.

“Careem’s pledge to assist the community, its partners, customers and Captains during these confusing times is our top priority,” the general manager of Careem UAE, Gheed El Makkaoui said. “This new product launch enables us to further meet the needs of the community.”

Dubai is currently on a 24-hour lockdown due to the national sterilisation programme that’s underway in the emirates, meaning the public is required to stay home.

If residents are required to leave the house for essentials such as groceries and pharmacy supplies, a movement permit is required.

Residents are able to apply for a movement permit for essential grocery and pharmacy shopping once every three days and can obtain a permit to leave the house for cash withdrawals or deposits at ATMs every five days.

Permits can be applied for online, where you fill out your details, the location of where you’re going to and the date and time. Once your permit has been approved you will receive a text message.
