We predict this 2020 wellness trend will be huge in Dubai

Calm your mind

If you think it’s too soon to start noting your new year resolutions, then just remember there are only 89 days left till we cheers to 2020.

Google Trends are thinking ahead and have unveiled some of the top wellness trends that aim to improve your physical and mental health.

Apart from breathing apps that saw an increase in search by 219 percent, there is one method that we are very keen to see grow in Dubai – Sound Bath Healing.

The search for this style of meditation has grown by 285 percent and could be an ideal practice for those who struggle to switch off their minds. Bathing in sounds from crystal bowls, or instruments tuned to specific frequencies, can enhance reflection process.

Sounds help relax and ease tension and are already being implemented in yoga and meditation classes in Dubai. Zoga Yoga in Downtown Dubai offers Tibetan Sound Healing meditation for one hour. A sequence of singing bowls are played, each one keyed to the energy centres (chakras) of the body, where sound nourishes the nervous system allowing the entire body to unwind.

Inspire Yoga at Al Manara has Yin Aroma Yoga which includes a 20-minute sound bath meditation. “Sound baths facilitate a shift in the brainwave state from our beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness). Some may be able to reach theta (meditative state) and even delta (where internal healing can occur).”

For a hectic lifestyle we lead in this sandy city, sound bathing might be a good source of calm and stress-relief.
