Here are some of the best new brunches to check out in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

From Mexican delights to Portuguese flavours.

Fridays are about to get a whole lot better with a range of new brunches to add to your diary. Team EW has selected some of the best to book in for now.

For the first time in Dubai you can enjoy the taste of a modern Portugal brunch with impressive views of either the skyline or beach. The new Friday brunch is served from 12.30pm to 4pm, and costs between Dh300 and Dh400. Prepare to indulge in tapas-style dishes as well as delicious mains like roasted codfish and grilled sardines marinated to perfection paired with a fruity Portuguese sangria and a creamy pastel de nata.

When it comes to refined Chinese food with a contemporary flair, it doesn’t get any better than Hakkasan. Every Friday from noon to 4pm you will be treated to a royal fest of dumplings, duck, steamed prawns, Wagyu truffle puffs and more served directly to your table. The three packages start from Dh318 and go up to Dh638.

One of the buzziest new brunches in town, The Loft at the Opera House not only offers an impressive setting, but also a diverse menu for every taste. The Lofty Caviar brunch takes place every Friday from midday and consists of a caviar stand as well as pasta and risotto stations. We spent a lot of our time by the seafood bar with a selection of icy oysters and ceviche, before heading back to the table for the truffle pizza and steak tartare. Packages range from Dh395 and Dh595 without caviar, and Dh695 to Dh895 with it.

The steakhouse has been running their popular Raising the Steaks Friday brunch a number of years, but this time they have introduced options including beef Wellington station, a raw poke bar and a make your own burrata counter.

Taco lovers should add July 19 to their diary for the El Secreto afternoon brunch at La Carnita. Accessed only via a secret password, expect the best of Mexican flavours with a side of an R&B DJ. The four packages are priced between Dh299 and Dh599.

Have you noticed a sudden surge of Greek restaurants in the city? From July19 get transported to Mykonos through authentic dishes like grilled Cypriot halloumi, beef carpaccio, baked pastitsio, baby chicken and steamed sea bass fillet. Plus the setting is super Instagrammable.
