Coldplay set to celebrate new album launch with two shows in Jordan

One of Britain’s biggest bands, Coldplay returned with a new album, their first in four years. The new record, titled is a double album, with the first half titled  and the other 

The band teased and announced their comeback on various newspapers around the world. The on October 24, Coldplay released the album’s lead singles, and Now, it has been announced that the band will be promoting their upcoming record with not one, but two shows in Amman, Jordan.

The show, which will take place on November 22 is a collaboration between the band and YouTube Originals. The concert will take place on the same day as release, with the Coldplay performing the entire 52-minute album. The Viva la Vida hitmakers show will mirror the album’s Sunrise and Sunset concept. This means that the first concert will be during Sunrise beginning at 6 am (Jordanian time). The second half of the record, will be performed at Sunset at 6pm (Jordanian time).

This will be Coldplay’s first ever show in Jordan, which they have described as a dream. “These two broadcasts have been our dream since we first started work on this album,” said the band statement. “It’s a bit impossible and a bit scary, like all the best dreams.”

The band chose to debut their highly-anticipated album in Jordan for its “natural beauty and historical and cultural significance, while also reflecting the middle eastern flavours and motifs that permeate the album’s music and artwork.”

“We’re really excited to launch our new album in Jordan,” said the band. “It has always felt like the perfect place for these two special shows.”

It is clear that Coldplay were influenced by the Arab world while working on this album. The album’s cover-art includes the Arabic translation of the album title: Al Hayah Al Yawmeya

The album’s track list also includes songs that point to the region, like lead single Not only that, but it also features ‘Bani Adam’ a song title written in Arabic script, which literally translates to ‘The children of Adam.’
