It has been reported that a certain blunder left the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton in ‘tears at the Palace’ ahead of her wedding day to Prince William.

Catherine’s wedding gown was one of the biggest topics of interest in the lead up to and on the big day back in 2011.
Now, it has been reported that the now mum-of-three was keen to keep all details of her dress, including the designer, a secret from the press.
Unfortunately for the Duchess, a leak meant that Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton was revealed as the woman behind the dress in the lead up to the wedding.
At the time, The Sunday Times reported, “A fashion source said that the dress will be a combination of Middleton’s own design ideas and Burton’s deep knowledge and understanding of high fashion.”

Speaking on Channel 5 documentary Secrets of the Royal Dressmakers, royal expert Katie Nicholl explained that the release of the delicate information left Kate devastated.
She said, “Behind the scenes I think that caused tears at the Palace because Kate had done everything she could to keep the wedding dress a secret.”
Despite the speculation, Sarah Burton denied that she had any involvement in creating the iconic gown until she was officially announced as the designer when Kate stepped out of the car in front of Westminster Abbey on the 29th April.

Sarah of course attended the wedding and adjusted Kate’s dress just before she walked down the aisle to ensure that everything was in place before she met with her groom, Prince William.
Although Kate was unhappy about the details getting out, Wedding dress designer Caroline Castigliano says the big reveal was still very special.

She said, “Everybody loved Kate’s dress. That excitement when she stepped out, it was just ‘wow’
“Incredible. She looked sensational. Even now it gives me butterflies.”
