The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William has been second in line to the throne his whole life and is said to have felt a ‘burden of responsibility’ far more than his younger brother, Prince Harry.

Luckily, the Queen granted William some liberties during his time at university.

According to the Express, she allowed the future King to have a ‘media blackout’ while he attended St Andrews so that he could live as a ‘normal student’ throughout his studies.

After he graduated from his Art History degree, Prince William continued to attempt to live a life of normalcy, requesting to be treated the same as every body else as he embarked upon his journey in the RAF and the East Anglian Air Ambulance team, while also reportedly remaining ‘discreet’ about his royal status.

This surprising information about the Queen follows news that she once made a cup of tea for an unsuspecting workman who was doing a job at Buckingham Palace.

In an upcoming Channel 5 documentary, Secrets of the Royal Palaces, royal upholsterer Kevin Andrews describes the moment Her Majesty personally made the hot beverage for the workman who was doing some hard graft in her home.

The builder is said to have been dismantling a desk when he heard a well spoken woman offer him a cup of tea, before answering, “Yeah, in a mug. Two sugars. Builders’ tea.

“I don’t want any of that nonsense I had the last time I was here, all that fine china and all that saucer stuff.”

Moments later he was told, “I’ve put your tea on the table here.”

He then looked up and was greeted by the sight of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.
