Strictly Come Dancing star Emma Barton has confessed that she could have ‘too much experience’ to appear on the competition.
Strictly Come Dancing might be heading back to our screens in just a few weeks time, but that hasn’t stopped EastEnders star Emma Barton making a shocking confession ahead of the new series.
As always when it comes to Strictly, there is always speculation about which contestant is going to be light on their feet, and which will be the ones with some seriously hard work ahead of them.
And Emma, who is better known as Walford’s Honey Mitchell, has previously confessed that she might have an unfair advantage over her fellow contestants considering her professional dance background.

The actress spent time touring with the stage production of Chicago back in 2009, where she played the role of Roxie Hart.
Speaking about Strictly Come Dancing, Emma told the Birmingham Mail back in 2009: “I was approached by the producers but nothing came of it. When I saw it, I thought ‘I’m quite glad I’m not in it, it looks exhausting and nerve-wracking.’”
But while Emma has clearly changed her mind about joining the show in the last 10 years, she has confessed that her time on Chicago might give her the edge: “After all this time dancing in Chicago, maybe it wouldn’t be fair.

“I would feel a bit like I shouldn’t take part because I have too much experience. I would love the chance to learn ballroom dances, but it is scary to be in the spotlight.”
The soap actress also admitted that dancing is her favourite way of keeping fit. At the time of being in Chicago she said: “I’m loving playing Roxy, the choreography is so slick and I’ve found muscles I didn’t realise I had. Dancing is such a good way of keeping fit.”
With Emma’s dancing experience, it seems she could be one to watch as the new series of Strictly Come Dancing launches on Saturday 7th September, BBC One.
