Jamie Laing could have to quit Strictly following reported injury

The future of Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing on Strictly Come Dancing this year has been thrown into question following reports he has seriously injured himself – so much so he may be unable to compete.

We’re all very excited now that Strictly season is almost upon us, but there could be fewer celebrity contestants than expected.

With only a few weeks until the first live show, it seems like reality TV star Jamie Laing might not be able to compete.

reports that Jamie, 30, landed awkwardly during the group dance on Friday’s pre-recorded opening episode, and so damaged a tendon in his right foot.

Pictures show Jamie on Saturday with a protective boot on his ankle to prevent unnecessary movement and to take weight off the injury.

Jamie’s representatives have declined to comment when contacted by .

The injury comes at a crucial time for the star, as the celebrities will have only now found out who their professional dance partners are, so will be needing to use every available moment to practice their routines.

Jamie and the other 14 celebrities who will be taking to the floor had their partners revealed during the rerecorded show on Friday.

This isn’t the only drama to fall ahead of the show airing on Saturday night (September 7), as Craig Revel Horwood made some remarks about former winner Stacey Dooley.

When asked by Tess what the celebrities should expect from their Strictly experience, Craig explained that they should follow in the footsteps of Stacey – who went on to win the glitter ball trophy with Kevin. He then allegedly said: “Of course, if you sleep with your dance partner that helps…”

He has since apologised, saying: “I recognise that what I said was hurtful, cruel and incredibly disrespectful. It was a huge error of judgement that I very much regret.”
