Coronation Street’s Alison King ‘engaged’ to long-term partner

Coronation Street actress Alison King is reportedly engaged to her long-term partner.

Alison, who has been playing Carla Connor on and off in the soap since 2006, is believed to have said yes to her mystery man’s “surprise” proposal last month.

A source said her Corrie co-stars are all delighted for the actress.

“Ali is so popular with everyone on the cobbles. They think it’s wonderful,” a source told The Sun.

“The engagement is a lovely surprise. Ali is over the moon.”

The source went on, “Ali has obviously endured heartache in the past. But she is hoping those days are now firmly behind her. She is very excited about what the future holds.”

Alison was previously in a relationship with Adam Huckett, a sound technician who worked on Corrie, from 2007 to 2012. They dated for five years and got engaged a year before eventually breaking things off.

The pair have one daughter together, 10-year-old Daisy May.

Little is known about Alison’s new fiance and they haven’t been pictured in public together since last October.

It’s also been reported that Alison’s Corrie co-star Alan Halsall could be gearing up to pop the question.

According to The Sun, Alan is ready to propose to former co-star Tisha Merry after they went public with their romance in May.

“Alan and Tisha are pretty inseparable. It’s lovely to see them happy. Alan’s closest pals are sure an engagement is right around the corner,” a source close to the actor told the publication.

Alan was previously married to Lucy-Jo Hudson after they met on the Corrie set. They began dating in 2005 and married on 13 June 2009. They welcomed their baby daughter in September 2013.

In March 2016 they announced they were splitting but reconciled just weeks later. However, in May 2018 they revealed they were separating for good.
