The Sun backed category, the Catering Team Champions, is looking to find school cooks who go above and beyond for pupils.
Last year the award was won by James Sommerville, 42, an ex-army chef whom heads the kitchen at Wyre Forest, a special needs school in Kidderminster.
James was picked from hundreds of entries because of the incredible care and attention he shows in catering for a huge range of dietary requirements across the school.
Jamie said: “Readers might see chefs like James who won The Sun category last year and think, ‘I wish we had that.’ But there is no reason they can’t.
“After 19 years, the school food standards set by the government are pretty good.
“I want to celebrate what great looks like in school kitchens and spread the message that it should be like that for everybody.”
The Good School Food Awards are open to nurseries, pre-school, primary and secondary non-paying schools.

Major A-lister sparks fury as she cuts hedge outside mansion – causing massive traffic queues for hundreds of yards

PARENTS have been left fuming after queues of traffic and delays left their children late for school – due to J.K. Rowling’s hedge being trimmed. The Harry Potter author has had the road adjacent to her 17th century home in Edinburgh restricted this week while work is carried out on the towering Leylandii hedge.

The 58-year-old billionaire has had four-way temporary traffic lights installed outside her £2.2million home with sections of the road closed to allow for a cherry picker to work on the shrubbery.
Ongoing work to the 30-foot bushes this morning is the third day of arborists working at the home, with works expected until the end of the week.
The work begins each day at 7.30am and lasts until 3pm – in direct conflict with those on the school run.
Buses will also not run at the local bus stop during those hours with the stop closed in both directions much to the local’s chagrin.

The works have now left local parents disgruntled, with children turning up late to school due to delays.
And one mum claimed her five-minute journey is now taking over 30 minutes.
More problems have since arisen too, with lights directing the traffic allegedly remaining red, causing further significant delays.
An image shows traffic sitting nose-to-tail on the road with parents claiming that traffic lights were stuck on red for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Several parents fumed over the closures which severely affected mums and dads trying to get their children to school.
One said: “The disruption to all the families trying to get to school on time was extremely frustrating and I’m sure many families will be late for school.”
Another commented: “Why can’t they do it in the February breaks? They have hours through the day when the roads are quiet. No one else gets the street shut down to cut their hedge.”
Another fumed: “To cause traffic to come to a standstill at rush hour to cut a hedge – doesn’t make sense.
“It just took over half an hour in the car to do what is normally a five-minute journey.
“Resulting in my child and many others being late, I can’t understand why the work can’t be done at the weekend or out-with these busy times – like 9.30am until 2.30pm.
“This happens a couple of times a year and is unreasonable.”
This is not the first time that Rowling’s property has left locals unhappy by the author’s large bushes.
In July 2022, she had roads similarly shut down leaving locals rushing down the street after realising the bus stop was closed.
In 2019 officials from the City of Edinburgh Council wrote to the star asking her to have the shrubbery trimmed as a “matter of urgency”.
More than a year later similar works were used on the road, with an 80ft cherry picker being utilised to cut the bush back and stop it from blocking streetlights.

Furthermore, in 2015 one onlooker told reporters of the “chaos” and disruption caused to traffic because of the works.

The film was shot at a school in Coventry during Becca’s summer holidays.

“But my mum and dad make us watch it every year as a Christmas tradition.”
Becca added: “I was only eight when I starred in the film.

“I just turned up to the audition and didn’t expect it to go anywhere.

“We didn’t know about going to LA to film for ages. I remember feeling quite nervous when we there.
“There were so many producers, directors and cameramen and it was really nerve wracking.
“But I remember making so many new friends on set and the whole experience was so fun.”
Nativity! tells the story of a heartbroken primary school who wants Hollywood stars to come to his class’s Christmas play.
Becca and the child actors on set were deliberately not given lines to make their acting more natural.
They were allowed to choose their characters’ names – with the producers swapping Becca’s initial choice of Sapphire for Saffron.

He went on to have his poems studied by English GCSE students, star in TV-hit Peaky Blinders as Jeremiah “Jimmy” Jesus.
The radical turned down an OBE in 2003.
The family of the Birmingham-born campaigning writer and musician were at his bedside as he passed away in the early hours.
Tributes last night poured in for the politically outspoken wordsmith.

Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy said: “Benjamin was a truly gifted and beautiful human being, a generational poet, writer, musician and activist.”
Sun columnist Tony Parsons wrote: “Benjamin Zephaniah was a beautiful man — warm, funny, wise — a breath of fresh air and humanity, always a joy to be around, one of those working-class kids who refused to stay in the box they put him in.”
Children’s author Michael Rosen commented on social media: “I’m devastated. I admired him, respected him, learnt from him, loved him.”
Born in the Handsworth area of Birmingham in 1958 to a nurse from Jamaica and a postman from Barbados, Benjamin had eight siblings.

He said: “Our early life was really poor, we had to share a tin bath and an outside toilet with the neighbours.”
Aged eight, his mum took him away from the family home and went on the run, leaving his brothers and sisters behind with his dad.
A couple of years later his dad tracked them down and when he started attacking his mum, Benjamin tried to fend him off.
He recalled: “I had a little knife and I was trying to get at his vein. The police came and arrested me.”
He was eventually thrown out of school for causing too much trouble.
There were also fights with racist gangs on the streets of Birmingham.

He once said: “I had to fight skinheads on the streets. When I was a teenager going to clubs, you’d come out and they’d be lined up, and you had to fight them.”
With few job prospects available to him, Benjamin admitted turning to petty crime.
But a spell inside convinced him that he needed to do something useful with his life.
He said: “I remember being in prison, thinking, ‘I want to change the world and now I’m sitting in a cell. What am I doing?’”
A lifelong gift for words offered Benjamin a way out.
He had been writing poems from the age of ten and started to perform them in front of audiences.

By the time he was 20 the budding writer had moved to Brixton, South London.
He had his first collection of poetry, Pen Rhythm, published in 1980.
At 22, he joined an adult education class to learn how to read.
It was on stage that his distinctive brand of Dub Poetry caught the public’s attention.
Soon the “establishment” he often berated in speeches at political demonstrations came calling.
He was shortlisted for a fellowship at Cambridge University and later for Oxford Professor of Poetry.

He made it clear he did not want to be considered for the role of Poet Laureate and refused an OBE because he opposed the idea of “empire”.
But he did take up a role as a professor of creative writing at Brunel University in London and accepted doctorates from countless other colleges.
His musical career included forming the The Benjamin Zephaniah Band and performing with Sinead O’Connor.
Benjamin was often open about the turmoil in his personal life, which included the sadness of his first wife Amina leaving him after ten years together in 2001 when they were unable to have children.
He said: “I’d have loved kids, and I’ve tried and tried to have them.
“I was on the verge of adopting once, but they wouldn’t let me because my police records had gone missing.”
In 2006 he moved to a bungalow in a small village near Spalding, Lincolnshire, and focused on his writing.

Despite all his criticism of the Government, he never wanted to leave Britain.
