Who is Timothy Spall?

Timothy Spall is an English actor who has enjoyed success on stage, film and TV.

Born in London, he began acting when he enrolled at the prestigious National Youth Theatre before going on to study at RADA.

After graduating, he went on to land numerous credits in film and television productions.

The 67-year-old has received prestigious awards, such as a BAFTA for Secrets and Lies and a Cannes Film Festival Best Actor award for Mr. Turner.

In 1996, he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia but has since been in remission.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show he revealed: “I was diagnosed with Leukaemia the day I was supposed to go to Cannes and when I saw everyone coming down the red carpet I was having my first chemo stuck directly to my heart when I was watching this all going on.

“It was nice because they were winning prizes while I was sort of doing an impersonation of not trying to peg it which I valiantly managed to achieve.”

Who is Timothy Spall’s wife Shane and do they have any children?

In 1981, Timothy married Shane Spall and the pair have three children.

She works as an author and has published two memoirs about her husband’s recovery from leukaemia.

The husband and wife duo also documented their trip around the British Isles for a BBC Four TV series called: Timothy Spall: Back at Sea.

Not much information is available about their daughters, but their eldest, Pascale, operates her own business, Stag & Bow Ltd in London.

Their son Rafe, has gone to follow in his dad’s footsteps and become an actor.
