What is The Underdog: Josh Must Win?

The Underdog: Josh Must Win unites a host of celebrities tasked with manipulating a popularity contest filled with influencers and beauty queens to ensure that Josh becomes the unlikely champion.

Nerdy but nice, Josh lives with his parents and four chocolate Labradors in Bournemouth.

It’s the job of these four personalities to support the 23-year-old, secretly orchestrating events from the neighbouring house in an effort to ensure Josh’s victory.

Nick Grimshaw

Nick Grimshaw is no stranger to reality TVCredit: PA

The popular TV and radio star became the host of Radio 1’s Weekend Breakfast Show.

As well as enjoying a successful radio career, Grimshaw can regularly be spotted on British telly.

He presented BBC Three’s Sweat The Small Stuff from 2013 until 2015 and was a guest host on panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

The popular TV personality has also worked on The One Show and Hotel Of Mum And Dad.

One of Grimmy’s most noteworthy appearances was on The X Factor, where he featured on the judging panel for one series back in 2016.

Vicky Pattison

Vicky Pattison is one of the UK’s leading podcasters.

She rose to fame on MTV’s Geordie Shore before going on to appear in multiple reality shows.

Pattison took part in two seasons of explicit dating show Ex On The Beach which constantly hit the headlines for its contestants’ outrageous behaviour.

Her podcast Vicky Pattison: The Secret To has more than 400 episodes.

On top of her reality TV work, she is a regular panellist on Loose Women, and has made guest appearances on This Morning, Celebrity Dinner Date, Celebrity Juice and Virtually Famous.

In 2015 Vicky won I’m A Celebrity, beating runner-up George Shelley.

She also appeared in Channel 4’s relaunch of The Crystal Maze in 2017.

In 2019, she joined the all-star line-up of Celebrity MasterChef, where she made it to the final but lost out to Greg Rutherford.

Following on from her MasterChef success Vicky joined E4’s Celebrity Coach Trip 2019 with former Love Island star Scott Thomas.

In December 2020 she took part in Celebrity MasterChef: Christmas Cook-Off, but was pipped to the post again by Janet Street-Porter.

In August 2021, she competed in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

In August 2022 she fronted the Channel 4 documentary, Vicky Pattison: My Dad, Alcohol and Me.

Pete Wicks

Pete Wicks made quite a name for himself since his rise to fame on The Only Way Is Essex.

The businessman joined the cast of Towie in 2015 and became a series regular in Season 15.

He said: “The show has turned my life upside down. Before that I worked in the city for nearly 11 years.

“I had a fairly good job, I was a director of a company for years.

“We supplied consultant doctors to the NHS. It was a complete contrast to what I’m doing now.”

Outside of reality TV, he is known for his many escapades with his co-stars.

Amber Gill

Amber Gill was the winner of Love Island in 2019 with her then-partner Greg O’Shea.

She then went public with her Arsenal star girlfriend Jen Beattie, after revealing she was in a same-sex relationship.

The pair have since split up but are apparently still friends.

She has gone on to make guest appearances on various television series including Love Island: Aftersun, This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, Lorraine, and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

In April 2021, Gill appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind and answered questions on her specialist subject, the film How to Train Your Dragon.

She also published the book Until I Met You in 2022.

How to watch The Underdog: Josh Must Win?

The Underdog: Josh Must Win starts March 25 at 9pm on E4.

There will be new episodes airing Monday to Wednesday in the same slot.
