Noughties pop star looks unrecognisable as she announces comeback 12 years after hit single

SHE rose to fame in the early noughties with a series of hit songs loved by angst-ridden teenagers everywhere.

But after huge success with tracks like Misfit and Just A Little Girl, Amy Studt took a step back from the limelight – until now as she plans to release her fourth album.

The singer, now 37, told fans she has been busy recording new music – sparking much excitement.

One person told her: “Ooo new Amy Studt is coming? You were a big part of my teenage years and I loved the evolution of your last album too, so much growth and your voice is always really beautiful to hear.”

While another added: “I am sooooo excited for the new album the wait is unbearable lol.”

Amy started writing music at a very young age – she was left bedridden when she was just 12 years old after she contracted the rare bone disease called osteomyelitis in her hip.

She also struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as being badly bullied while at school.

Her debut album False Smiles was released in 2002 and was certified gold.

She was dropped from her record label – Polydor – in 2014, before she was even 18.

Amy went on to release two further albums, in 2007 and 2019 and is now planning her next, which she is busy recording in a studio in Margate.

She told fans as she got to work: “NEWS! I’ve been keeping quiet for a while but I’m humbly announcing that my new, 4th record is now written and has begun the recording process (this is me in the studio earlier this week). Yes!”

In the past Amy has said she isn’t worried about chart success, telling Renowned for Sound: “It’s funny, other people seem to feel or imagine this pressure when they are writing reviews or articles about me now – trying to spice it up I guess.

“But, I don’t feel it, in my world, I write and sing and live my life. All I care about is people hearing my record and to keep writing and doing what I love. Chart success would be an added surreal bonus but, not something I feel any pressure for.”
