A LEGENDARY noughties dance act have reunited for their first tour in eight years after the tragic death of their frontman.

Faithless are planning to make their return after nearly a decade away from the stage.

The band, behind the massive 1995 dance hit Insomnia, consisted of lead singer Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss, 53, Rollo Armstrong, 57 and Jamie Catto, 55, They will now become a duo with just Sister Bliss and Rollo.

Jamie left the band back in 1999 to create the TV and film production company 1 Giant Leap.

Maxi, 65, died in his sleep at his South London home back in 2022 leading to heartbroken tributes from fellow band members and fans.

The band, who have been MIA since the tragic incident, have now taken to Instagram with a statement that read: “As so many of you have noticed, we’re back… Some shows have already been announced but we couldn’t start the summer without a little personal note.

“Maxi died just over a year ago and obviously we miss him everyday. Thank you all for your kind words of support over this last year. It has really, really meant a lot.

“In the meantime, we never stopped (couldn’t stop, never wanted to stop!) making music. Even during Maxi’s long illness we recorded and released All Blessed.”

The band, who released their seventh studio album All Blessed back in October 2020, took some time off after the tragic passing of their bandmate.

Faithless continued: “And now finally eight years after our last live performance, we are returning to festival stages across the summer and are planning some of our own shows later this year.”

Whilst another added: “Maxi will absolutely be with you in spirit! What a legend. So glad your back.”

Some of the cities Faithless will grace the stages of include London, Amsterdam, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Just weeks before Maxi’s death, the star was forced to cancel gigs due to his health.

He wrote on Instagram: “I thought I might be on top of things but sadly not… I’ll let you know when I’ve regained sufficient oomph.”

In the wake of the heartbreaking incident, his devastated bandmates came together to share an emotional tribute.

The band previously wrote on their Facebook page: “We are heartbroken to say Maxi Jazz died last night.

“He was a man who changed our lives in so many ways. He gave proper meaning and message to our music.

“He was also a lovely human being with time for everyone and a wisdom that was both profound and accessible.

“It was an honour and, of course, a true pleasure to work with him.

“He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist , a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius.

“Rollo, Sister Bliss x.”

The bands biggest hits include songs like Insomnia, We Come 1, and God Is a DJ. Over the years, they’ve won several awards, including Brit Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.

While they go by stage names, Maxi’s actual name was Maxwell Alexander Fraser, Rollo’s birth name is Rowland Constantine O’Malley Armstrong, and Sister Bliss is known as Ayalah Deborah Bentovim.
