LEGENDARY 90s rocker Stephen Jones looks completely unrecognisable with grey hair and beard, 28 years after finding fame.
The singer’s band Babybird had huge success with their iconic indie anthem, You’re Gorgeous.
Stephen formed Babybird in 1995 with Huw Chadbourne (keyboards), Robert Gregory (drums), John Pedder (bass) and Luke Scott (guitar).
However, it was in 1996 when they hit the big time.
You’re Gorgeous was the second single off their album Ugly Beautiful, and it had massive success.
It reached No. 2 in the charts and was also one of the biggest selling singles of the year.

The song talks about a model being told they are “gorgeous” during a photoshoot.
The singer has previously revealed the single is a feminist song.
Fast forward nearly 30 years and Stephen now lives in Hale, which is the star studded suburb of south Manchester and home to musicians, actors and Premier League footballers.
The star continues to perform and release music, and has also written several books.

Speaking about his success in the 90s, Stephen told Backseat Mafia in 2023: “I moved to Sheffield and then that’s where it all started.
“That’s where the band began in ‘95. Then we kind of had a feeding frenzy from record companies.
I have to pinch myself really. Because I literally was on the dole just writing in a tiny room and then suddenly Ugly Beautiful came out and You’re Gorgeous became this monster hit.

“It kind of went from me just basically working in my bedroom or on the kitchen table to, in a couple of years, going to an insane place.”
The singer went on: “I have to pinch myself really.
“Because I literally was on the dole just writing in a tiny room and then suddenly Ugly Beautiful came out and You’re Gorgeous became this monster and I had to move because I was just getting so much grief and shouted out…not in a nasty way, but you couldn’t go anywhere.
“Literally. I’d never experienced anything like that.
“So I moved to London to escape and you can kind of blend in more, and then going back to the way I used to write”
