Killer Mike reveals bizarre reason he was arrested after winning three Grammys and slams ‘overzealous’ security guard

RAPPER Killer Mike has revealed what led up to his arrest at the Grammys after he won three gongs at the big event.

He blamed an “overzealous” security guard while explaining why he was led away in cuffs at the 66th Annual Grammys Awards at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The rapper had won three Grammys that evening

“As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter,” the rapper told TMZ.

“We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”

A source close to Killer Mike, real name Michael Render, told the outlet that they had run into an issue trying to enter the venue, however it is unclear whether they were coming in for the first time or re-entering.

Footage from the night shows what appears to be a heated exchange between Mike and the security guard, with the rapper eventually appearing to try and push his way through into the venue.

Hollywood Reporter writer, Chris Gardner, later documented the star’s arrest on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Gardener shared a video of him being escorted out of the Crypto.com arena at around 7:30 pm.

Two police officers could be seen guiding him out while people from Killer Mike’s team followed behind.

The artist was charged with a misdemeanor for battery, police said.
