Kerry Katona reveals terrifying reason she’s U-turned on decision to move to Spain

AFTER a sun-kissed getaway in Marbella last summer, Kerry Katona fell in love with the city and even started making plans to relocate.

However, the 43-year-old has now revealed that the holiday honeymoon is officially over.

Writing in her OK magazine column, Kerry said that she now doesn’t feel safe moving her family to the area.

After coming to the decision with her fiancé Ryan, she said: “It’s no secret that Ryan and I have been thinking of uprooting to Marbella for a while, but now we’re undecided.

“We have read that there’s been a couple of shootings in that area and we’re just not sure if it’s the best place for our family to move to.”

The Costa Del Sol hotspot, which is popular with celebrities and the super-rich, was recently been labeled a “gangsters’ paradise” after a wave of gang shootings.

Kerry added that the couple have decided instead to remain in the UK and have started house hunting as they are looking to downsize.

She said: “Now, the plan is to stay in England and we’ve been viewing houses already – but we’d definitely like to downsize, as Heidi will be going to college soon, so it’ll just be Max, DJ, Ryan, and I. A new home is on the horizon – but we won’t need as many rooms!”

The mother-of-five had been planning to move to Spain following a wonderful family holiday last year.

Last October she shared the excitement with her fans.

Posting a video of herself in a floral maxi dress from her own boutique, Kerry said: “I’m in such a happy… I can’t wait to move out here. I cannot wait!”

The celebrity also said that she was fed up of making the trip from Cheshire to meetings in London.

“You can hop on a plane and be in Marbella in less time. So, that’s our plan. It’s exciting,” she said.

But now it would seem that the recent troubles have given her a change of heart.

Kerry is mum to daughters Molly, 22, and Lilly-Sue, 20, who she shares with her ex-husband Brian McFadden.

She gave birth to daughter Heidi, 16, and 15-year-old son Maxwell during her marriage to Mark Croft.

Kerry’s youngest child is daughter Dylan-Jorge, or DJ as she is known, who is nine years old. She had her during her relationship with George Kay, who died from a drug overdose in 2019.

But it also appears that Kerry has been having second thoughts about the relocation for sometime, given how much her youngest enjoys school.

She said: “DJ is happy at school and doesn’t want to move, which is important because I want her to have stability.

“Kids need that. And Max is starting college in September, which is exciting.

“I do have to travel to London for work, but I don’t mind the journey if it means keeping things stable.”
