The rock band was formed in Melbourne, Australia back in 1985.

Its founding members were New Zealander Neil Finn and Australians Paul Hester and Nick Seymour.

The group will now reunite for the On The Mount At Wasing festival in Reading this summer.

The official website reads: “With a career that spans almost 40 years, Crowded House have enjoyed worldwide success.

In July, the five-piece band will perform at the Isle of Wight Festival and will be travelling across the UK, visiting Cardiff and Ireland.

The group will then hit a number of US states as they continue their tour – including California, New York and Atlanta.

It comes after founding member Neil Finn has now sold the rights to some of their songs.

Earlier this week, Primary Wave Music announced a new partnership with Neil.

The multi-million-dollar deal sees the company acquiring Neil’s music publishing catalog and writer’s share of public performance for his work with Crowded House as well as his solo material.

Many of Neil’s tracks that he wrote for Crowded House are included in the deal – like Don’t Dream It’s Over, Better Be Home Soon, Weather With You and his solo material and the songs he wrote as a member of Split Enz, including the 1980 hit I Got You.

The band previously split in 1996 and drummer Paul Hester quit in 1994.
