AL Pacino suffered an awkward blunder while presenting the Best Picture award at the Oscars last night.
The Godfather actor, 83, decided not to name the 10 nominees up for the gong and went straight to announcing the winner on Sunday night.
Al – who welcomed his fourth child last summer – took to the stage to present the Oscar.
“Best Picture…uh, I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will,” he said, leaning into the microphone.
The audience laughed nervously as he said, “Here it comes!”
The Scarface actor squinted and said, “And my eyes see Oppenheimer?”
There was a pause as the crowd realized Al had not read out the nominees before going to the winner.
The audience then burst into gracious applause as the movie’s producer Emma Thomas and director Christopher Nolan went onstage to accept the award.
The strained moment didn’t go unnoticed by viewers at home, who shared their opinions on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Al Pacino’s Oscar announcement of best picture was the most chaotic, confusing, and anticlimactic moment of an otherwise enjoyable award show,” one wrote.

“Al Pacino announced Best Picture like this was the first time he had ever heard of a film called Oppenheimer,” another added.
“Did Al Pacino just mess up the biggest category of the evening???” a third asked.
“Al Pacino not even presenting the rest of the nominations and going straight to the winner is such a hilarious yet Oscar-worthy performance in its own right,” someone else joked.
“I couldn’t watch it it was too much,” yet another user admitted.
Al’s live gaffe wasn’t the only mishap on the night.
DRESS MESS
Emma Stone was left red-faced when her dress ripped as she went onstage to collect her Best Actress award for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things.
The Hollywood star pointed out her dress after taking to the stage.
“My dress is broken,” she said through tears while hugging former Best Actress winners.
The La La Land actress then jokingly revealed why she thinks it ripped in the first place adding, “I think it happened during I’m Just Ken. I’m pretty sure.”
“Don’t look at the back of my dress,” she said as she turned away from the mic and hid the rip with her hand.
JIMMY’S JOKE
Earlier in the ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel opened the Oscars with a crass joke about Robert Downey Jr.’s past drug use.
Late Night star Jimmy, 50, mentioned Oppenheimer and its Best Supporting Actor nominee, Robert Downey Jr.
He said, “This is the highest point of Robert’s long illustrious career- well, one of the highest,” motioning to his nose.
Robert then pointed to his own nose, seeming to be a good sport, and the audience nervously laughed.
“Was that too on the nose or a drug motion you made?” Jimmy asked him.

He added, “But look at him, he’s so handsome, so talented, he’s won every award there is to win. Is that an acceptance speech in your pocket, or do you have a very rectangular penis?”
At that point, Robert stared at the host, looking stoic and disappointed.
