Legendary 80s rockers announce huge European tour after tragic death of band member

ZZ TOP are set to go on tour for the first time since 2019 as they are set to play a string of dates.

The American Rock band have gigs scheduled in the UK and Europe after bass player Dusty Hill died in 2021.

Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Elwood Francis make up the current lineup of the group.

They were famously known as ‘That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,’ and they are set to play in nine countries.

Starting on 28th June they will perform at the Dalhall Festival in Rattvik, Sweden for the start of a three week extravaganza.

The summer of 2024 will the band take on the festival circuit as they travel to places such as Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, France, UK, and Switzerland.

They will stay in Germany for five shows, before heading to the UK for a concert at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London.

ZZ Top will then head back to Europe to take to the stage at Le Zenith at Parc La Villette in Paris. 

Loyal fans can get their hold on tickets when they go on sale, just before Christmas on December 15, 2023 .

This comes after the band tragically lost their bassist of over 50 years, Dusty Hill in 2021.

He passed away on July 28 age 72, with his death later announced in a statement released to the band’s Instagram profile.

Although he mostly played bass for the group, he also served as its secondary lead vocalist, alongside main singer and frontman Billy.

The group has released 15 studio albums throughout the years and are estimated to have sold 50 million records worldwide.

During the eighties, the band won three MTV Video Music Awards and were later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

In 2007 they were also awarded commemorative rings in the VH1 Rock Honours, which were handed out by actor Billy Bob Thornton.

Later they released a music documentary on Netflix, That Little Ol’ Band from Texas, which received a Grammy Award nomination in 2021 in the best musical film category.
