Jonathan Majors trial finds Marvel actor guilty of assault and harassment for attack on ex Grace Jabbari in back of car

JONATHAN Majors has been found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment.

Following the jury’s decision, Majors, an actor, was dropped by Marvel Studios.

In March, Jabbari alleged that the Marvel actor attacked her in the back of a car.

The incident left Jabbari with a broken finger and swollen arm and ear.

The jury convicted him of one count of assault and one count of harassment.

They acquitted him of the other two charges.

Majors did not visibly react to the verdict, simply squinting slightly.

In various testimonies, Jabbari argued that Majors attacked her after she grabbed his phone when she saw a text from another woman, reported Reuters.

She also discussed his supposedly violent temper.

Jabbari’s lawyer, Brittany Henderson, said that they hoped the verdict would inspire people to speak out.

“Ms. Jabbari hopes that her actions will inspire other survivors to speak out and seek justice,” she said.

Majors’ lawyers maintain that he is innocent.

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” said Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry.

They argue that Jabbari attacked the actor in the car and after he broke up with her.

“You are here to end this nightmare for Jonathan Majors,” said Chaudhry in court.

Majors faces up to one year in jail.

His sentencing is set for February 6.

Following the jury’s decision, Chaudhry shared a statement.

“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her,” read the statement, per The Daily Beast.

“We are grateful for that.”

“We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him,” added Chaudhry.

“Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months.”

“Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

The mixed verdict signals the jury believed Majors recklessly assaulted his then-girlfriend, but did not intentionally do so.

The mixed verdict also suggests the jury did not believe Majors intentionally committed aggravated harassment inside the SUV, but did believe he harassed Jabbari outside the vehicle by picking her off the ground and throwing her back inside.

Majors is an actor primarily known his work in films like “Creed III” and his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On December 18th, Marvel Studios announced that Majors was out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
