BILL Granger’s daughter has paid a moving tribute to her chef dad after he died following a reported battle with cancer.
The Australian restaurateur and food writer sadly passed away on Christmas Day aged just 54.
Granger, who became known as the “godfather of avocado toast”, is believed to have been fighting cancer.
His daughter Inès, 20, paid tribute to her dad under an Instagram post announcing the dad-of-three’s heartbreaking death.
She wrote: “I love you dadda”.
The news of his death came as a shock to pals Hugh Jackman, Jamie Oliver, and James Martin.

Granger was born in Sydney, Australia and enjoyed a 30-year career in the industry – writing 14 cookbooks and hosting five TV series.
He has opened 19 restaurants in total including four in the UK – Granger & Co Chelsea, Granger & Co Clerkenwell, Granger & Co King’s Cross and Granger & Co Notting Hill.
The chef was widely known for sparking the increasingly-popular avocado toast movement around the world.

Granger first sold the creation at his Sydney restaurant ‘bills’ in 1993.
Bills was not meant to be a breakfast restaurant but in a bid to afford his rent, Granger had to drastically cut his opening hours.
In a statement announcing his death, the chef’s family said: “It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Granger announce he has passed away on December 25 at the age of 54.
“A dedicated husband and father, Bill died peacefully in hospital with his wife Natalie Elliott and three daughters, Edie, Ines and Bunny, at his bedside in their adopted home of London.
“Born in Melbourne, Australia, Bill was a self-taught cook who became a celebrated global restaurateur and food writer with a career spanning over 30 years.
“He will be deeply missed by all, with his loss most profoundly felt by his adored family, who are grateful for all the love and support that has been given.”
