In the wake of unprecedented rainfall wreaking havoc across Dubai, Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has taken swift action to aid affected residents.
Over the weekend, Sheikh Hamdan directed the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to provide immediate assistance, including temporary housing, food provisions, and enhanced security, at no cost to those impacted by the inclement weather.
This comprehensive response, part of a meticulously planned government initiative, aims to alleviate the hardships faced by flood-affected individuals and families. Residential management firms and real estate developers have been mobilized to offer temporary accommodations, distribute essential supplies within affected communities, and facilitate the safe return of residents to their homes.
Additionally, services such as interior cleaning, damage assessment, and risk evaluation will be extended to ensure the well-being and safety of affected properties.
Emphasizing personal oversight, Sheikh Hamdan pledged to closely monitor the progress of relief efforts. Ground teams have been deployed to provide on-the-ground support and assistance to citizens and residents throughout the recovery process. Moreover, a newly formed committee, comprising senior officials from Dubai’s community development authority, RTA, DEWA, and DET, has been established to coordinate and bolster support for those in need.
Expressing gratitude to all contributors, Sheikh Hamdan conveyed a heartfelt message via his social media channels, acknowledging the collective efforts to aid the city in its time of need. In a video message shared with his extensive Instagram following of 16 million, Sheikh Hamdan commended the dedication of individuals who have tirelessly worked to assist the community and facilitate Dubai’s recovery from the unprecedented rainfall.

In the aftermath of the deluge, which inundated communities, disrupted transportation, and prompted widespread remote work and learning arrangements, Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan’s proactive response reflects a steadfast commitment to the welfare and resilience of Dubai’s residents amidst challenging circumstances.
