It has been announced that all UAE citizens and residents are allowed to travel abroad for any reason.
Last week it was revealed there was a set list of valid reasons to travel abroad, but leisure and tourism did not appear on that list. However, this has now changed as of Friday, July 3.
Per an announcement from the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, citizens and residents are permitted to leave the country to travel as long as “the health requirements currently enforced within airports and in accordance with the destinations’ regulations”.

In order to travel, a negative COVID-19 test is required and this must be done within 48 hours of the intended travel date.
When returning to the UAE, a health declaration form must be completed as well as a PCR test. All those who have been out of the country will be required to quarantine until they receive a negative test for COVID-19.
