I used to beg my mom to take me to Anthropologie when I was younger. It was all the way at the Fancy Mall (you know the huge one that’s always a slightly-too-far distance from your house, so you have to go to the Regular Mall mostly but sometimes on special occasions you trek out to the Fancy Mall and all your fancy dreams come true? That mall) and felt like stepping into a lush, sparkling wonderland. I wanted everything that was impractical for an 11-year-old to own — floaty, floral midi dresses and sumptuous velvet chairs and beveled glass tumblers that glinted under the lights.
