At this point, there is no denying that is one of the most popular shows in TV history. Even though the show premiered 25-years-ago, there is no denying the influential impact that it had.
Ever since September 23, 1994, the friendship between Joey, Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, Ross, and Monica has touched our hearts, and here is how you can celebrate it. In honour of the iconic series, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain are expected to pay tribute to Friends in time for its 25th anniversary – and you bet we will be there.
Whether you are a die-hard fan of the 10-season show, or a casual viewer, you will surely recognise the legendary Central Perk Cafe set, specifically the couch where the friends have gathered for most of the show. Now, you will be able to witness it in real life, as The Dubai Mall will display the iconic orange couch, rug, and coffee table from Sunday, September 15.
Not only that, but if you are around the fountain and Burj Khalifa on September 22, then you will surely witness a show inspired by the series. There will be two light shows at 8.30pm and 9.30pm, and they will be synced with The Dubai Fountain which will be playing the theme by The Rembrandts.
Dubai isn’t the only city celebrating ‘ 25th anniversary. Other landmarks such as the Empire State Building, The London Eye and Madrid Royal Palace are welcoming the Central Perk Cafe in its world tour. The iconic set is also expected to make an appearance in India, Colombia, Argentina, Australia and more.
