Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Cher pose together 40 years after photo in near-identical outfits

SCREEN stars Meryl Streep and Cher turn back time — 41 years after appearing together in near identical outfits.

The pals, in the 2018 film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Meryl, 74, presented Cher, 77, with an icon award at the event in Los Angeles.

And Believe singer Cher told the audience: “I don’t usually talk about it, but I have been down and out so many times you could not believe it.

“Dropped by record companies, couldn’t get a job… they said, ‘Oh, she’s so over.’ But I never gave up my dream.

If I Could Turn Back Time artist Cher also stayed close to toyboy lover Alexander Edwards, 38, at the awards ceremony.

Both Meryl and Cher are Academy Award winners with the latter picking up Best Actress for rom-com Moonstruck in the late-80s.

Meanwhile, 3-time Oscar winner Meryl’s own career success is best known to younger audiences for roles such as Miranda Priestley in comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada.
