Saudi Arabia will welcome international tourists by end of year

Happy travels

Soon you’ll be able to tick off  Nabatean city of Madein Saleh off your bucket list.

Saudi Arabia will be granting tourist visas from the end of 2019 following the announcement by the head of the Saudi Tourism and Heritage Authority, Ahmad al-Khatib.

Previously, the kingdom didn’t issue visas tourism purposes alone, and if they did it was only for select group tours.

This is part of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 plan, which also saw introduction of concerts and festivals from international artists like Janet Jackson, Liam Payne and 50 Cent.

Travelling from the UAE will be super easy thanks to low-cost flight routes with Emirates, Fly Dubai, Etihad, and Saudia airlines. So you can spend the weekend visiting one of the many historical sites including Red Sea port city of Jeddah, Al Hejaz Railway station in Medina, and Masmak Fortress – a Unesco World Heritage Site.
