Safety first
Breast screening can detect cancer in its earliest stages. So why not take advantage of the 50 per cent discounts on screening mammograms for women over 40 years of age at Mediclinic in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain? The consultation is available to women with no prior symptoms, those who have not had a mammogram in the previous 12 months and do not have a applicable insurance coverage. Complimentary breast reconstruction consultations are also available throughout October for any women who is considering the procedure. Shoe matters
Nine West have partnered with Pink Caravan for a 3-week long initiative to raise awareness on breast cancer. They will be donating a pair of shoes to a breast cancer survivor for every pair sold at its UAE stores between October 1 to October 17. #NWPinkOctober
The Pink Party
Want to join in the fun and show your support to women around the world this month? The UAE’s largest fitness chain, Fitness First, is organising the Ultimate Pink Party on Friday, October 4 and it is open free of charge to all women and children above the age of six. They only have one pre-condition – you have to be wearing pink. The party will run for two hours and GX instructors will be choreographing your Zumba moves. And, the first 300 participants arriving at the venue will get a T-shirt from Adidas.

Say it with flowers
Plaisir Cadeaux et Fleurs will be hosting a free flower workshop in their boutique in an initiative to bring joy to people battling cancer or have been affected by it in some way or another. You will be creating your very own flower arrangement in one of their signature velvet boxes which you can then proudly take home with you. There are limited spots available so make sure you confirm your attendance in advance.

Savour, Pamper and Support
The Ritz-Carlton Dubai will be supporting the Al Jalila Foundation in partnership with Brest Friends with month-long activities to create awareness and raise funds. Taking place at the hotel in JBR throughout October, you can take part in a range of #PINKtober activities and show your support. There is the decadent afternoon tea, a Rose Awakening Ritual spa treatment and a high tea on October 8, for which they have partnered with The Big Beauty Scoop. Coffee Time
Costa Coffee UAE has teamed up with the Al Jalila Foundation in partnership with Brest Friends to raise money and awareness by bringing a touch of pink to their menu. So you have the Think Pink Macaroon and the Think Pink Latte, where all the proceeds will be donated directly to Al Jalila Foundation.
In addition to the Think Pink menu, Kings College Hospital Dubai will be working alongside them to offer complimentary private physical breast examinations at the Costa Coffee store. The hospital will also host a special offer on mammograms (Dhs500) at their Dubai Hills branch throughout October.
