Entrepreneur Natalia Shustova on bold expression through her ever-evolving style

IN PARTNERSHIP: From being a bona fide UAE content creator to launching her unique floral concept Goshá late last year, daily dressing for Natalia Shustova – known as ‘Shoestova’ on Instagram – always seems to match her creative pursuits which constantly adapts according to her role.
Over the years, from transitioning as a lawyer in the corporate world to streaming into a trend-focused sartorial theme, she emulates her free-spirited side through colourful elements which also evolves with her hobbies.

Sharing her fashion journey as part of Charles & Keith’s SS21 campaign, Shustova expresses to Emirates Woman how what you wear gives a stronger impression than words. It’s about choosing the right clothes, accessories and shoes for people to understand you through your style.
“Currently, the situation that we have with the pandemic and what we do in our daily lives has also been impacted, especially with what I wear every day,” she says.

While transcending into a more casual element she adds, “It’s more comfortable, it’s more casual, it’s more about myself and what I’m doing right now more than trying to impress anyone.”

As for spring-summer trends, her take on it is: “Bright bags in yellow and green will be one of my favourites. I also enjoy seeing powerful shoulders in dressing, especially when it’s done in monochrome with beautiful wraparounds in pastel shades, which are absolutely stunning when styled with crop tops or bra-lets.”
Pairing the right accessories can elevate any look and Charles & Keith’s latest capsule highlights relaxed fluid shapes designed for everyday social settings, perfectly in-keeping with Shustova’s personal style.
With Charles and Keith’s Spring summer collection representing a form of newness, Shustova loves the bright bags which are a prominent element in the accessories section. This limited edition range highlights the season’s must-haves through the saddlebag and eye-catching baguette bag with a signature buckle, as seen in the Patent Knotted Shoulder bag in red, Shustova effortlessly embodies this into her busy lifestyle as a businesswoman with its versatile nature.
“I like how small and compact the bags are throughout the collection,” she says. “I adore the structured chains infused into some of the pieces, designed from plexiglass or with natural materials, it’s something which can be styled easily while adding that hint of playfulness to any look.”
Designed for everyday wear, the footwear silhouettes from Charles & Keith’s latest SS21 collection represents a bold colour wheel for the modern woman.

While combining pieces from the collection within her personal style, which has transformed into somewhat casual, she says, “One of my favourite trends right now is to wear sweatpants which is currently very, especially when paired with kitten heels, creating that high-low feel, which is exactly what I’m looking for.”
As for embracing a strong personal style philosophy that has grown through the years, being herself is of utmost importance as it needs to be aligned with how you feel in the moment without also being afraid to accept change and experiment as the collection strongly portrays.
“Find the way that works for you, find the clothes that work for your personal shape, for your height, for your age, for your hair colour and for what you do,” Shustova says.[embedded content]

Here’s when Prince Harry and Prince William are set to reunite

With tensions between the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at an all-time high, distant royal brothers Prince William and Prince Harry are set to reunite in a few months.
The pair are set to mark what would’ve been their mother, Princess Diana’s 60th birthday in July with the unveiling of a statue of the late Princess of Wales which was commissioned by the brothers in 2017.

It will mark the first time the brothers will have seen each other face-to-face since Harry was last in the UK in March 2020 prior to his and wife Meghan Markle’s departure as senior royals.
The Duke of Sussex spoke about his strained relationship with his elder brother in the explosive sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired last Sunday in the US.

“As I said before, I love William to bits,” he said. “We’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience, but we are on different paths.”
In the aftermath of the interview, after Buckingham Palace made a statement on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, Prince William spoke out about the tell-all.
He was asked during a public appearance if he had spoken to his brother at all.
No, I haven’t spoken to him yet, but I will do,” he said.
The same reporter also asked, “Is the royal family a racist family?” To which William responded, “We are very much not a racist family.”

Meghan Markle says several members of the Royal Family discussed with Harry concerns over what the color of Archie’s skin color would be.
Listen to the biggest bombshell so far of this entire interview with Oprah.#MeghanMarkle pic.twitter.com/CIQP6Q61pj
    — Lynnette KhalfaniCox (@themoneycoach) March 8, 2021

One of the most bombshell revelations in the interview was when Meghan alleged there were conversations between Harry and other family members about how “dark” baby Archie’s skin would be when he’s born.
“In those months when I was pregnant all around the same time, we had in tandem the conversation he wouldn’t be given security, wouldn’t be given a title and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan said, which left interviewer Oprah shocked.
“What?” Oprah said with dismay over her face “And who is having that conversation with you?”
However, both Meghan and Harry refused to state who said this as “it would be very damaging to them.”

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate has seen unbelievable changes in a very short amount of time.
However, His Highness’ vision for Dubai is far from over. In the next 20 years, under a new development plan, citizens and residents will see major changes take place in the city.

“We launched Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan with aims to make Dubai the world’s best city to live in,” Sheikh Mohammed announced on Saturday.
In doing so, public beach areas in Dubai will increase by 400 per cent and 60 per cent of the emirate’s area will be nature reserves, meaning you’ll see a lot more greenery around the city.

We launched Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan with aims to make Dubai the world’s best city to live in. Escape from the city at this Sharjah retreat

March’s – ‘The Wellness Issue’ – Download Now
Mysk Al Faya Retreat is unique in beauty and design. Mr. Shafik Alaaeddine, General Manager of Sharjah collection on what it takes to create a haven this special.
What do the first 30 minutes of your day look like, your morning routine?
I am an early bird and reach the office by 7am after completing my morning workout. I start by looking into the previous day’s reports, online reviews received through the various channels, going through the arrivals of the three properties of Sharjah collection as well as getting an insight into any event that is taking place. I make a tour of the property I am present in, whether it is Kingfisher, Al Faya or Al Badayer Retreat, and then brief the team on the day ahead.

What inspired the creation of this property?
When Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) decided to create Al Faya Retreat – history and heritage were two main points of consideration. The property is a complex of historical buildings, sitting on the red sands at the foot of Mount Alvaah in the Emirate of Sharjah, while it is also located in proximity of the Mleiha archeological center which displays the rich history of the region by being first inhabited by humans since around 130,000 years. The pair of stone buildings originally built half a century ago, which once housed a clinic and a grocery shop, has been renovated into a contemporary boutique retreat and restaurant, and on-premises of the property there is one of the UAE’s first petroleum pumps.
With your clients visiting from around the globe, how do you ensure a bespoke experience for each stay?

Guests can embark on a wellness journey as they venture through the herbal and Himalayan salt rooms, before heading to the tropical walk where a range of different shower pressures, lights and noises allow for a completely immersive experience. Promoting both physical and mental health, the rooms help in reducing inflammations, helping those with respiratory issues, and assists the improvement of overall well-being.
Al Faya also offers a variety of activities such as archery, trekking, cycling as well as cultural activities arranged by a visit to Mleiha Archeological Center, Jebel Buhais Archeological center and the 4×4 museum nearby.
How has the hospitality industry evolved in the last 12 months?
Although 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, it marked a significant shift in the behaviour of domestic and international tourists, who primarily focus on properties that offer social distancing, a smaller number of guest and sanitisation measures alongside unique experiences that allows them to try something new.
What are the design elements that allow the property to stand out?
With just five rooms, Al Faya Retreat’s contemporary feel masterfully combines aspects of originality, blended together with luxe modernity. Bedrooms feature a skylight for stargazing at night with a fire pit primed for recapping the day’s many adventures. Surrounded by the commanding presence of the desert and the nature that calls it home, Al Faya Retreat celebrates its location ensuring that its practices are eco-friendly and that its guests fully love this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Mlieha region was nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, tell us about this?
Mleiha is home to a number of significant sites, including Bronze Age tombs, historical caves and pre-Islamic forts. A wealth of fascinating artefacts, from camel skeletons to pottery and iron tools have been discovered here, with many on display in the outstanding Mleiha Archaeological Centre.  The surrounding area is a beautiful location for a desert camp on soft dunes and the perfect haven to spend a night under the glittering stars.
You have a spa on location – how do you approach wellness?
Privately. The spa is a private sanctuary only available to in-house guests, the spa at Al Faya Retreat offers a distinct experience. Inspired by the landscape that surrounds it, its tranquil atmosphere allows for complete relaxation. Located in its own building, privacy is key with views gazing towards the desert while being unique to the region, the spa is based on the element of salt.

How do you approach client retention and client engagement?
Our aim is to always offer our guests a personalised service that starts from the reservation process, through the pre-arrival to stay and post departure. We do our best to capture all the preferences and details of our guests to provide them with a tailormade experience that makes their stay memorable and distinguished.
This is ‘The Wellness Issue’, what is wellness to you and how do you support achieving this personally?
From my perspective, wellness is being well from all aspects which mainly include the mind and body. I do encourage people to eat with balance and focus on activities that enhance their body and mind performance, which I constantly apply myself.
