Your Dubai airport experience will be a little different next time you travel

It’s no secret that the travel industry as we know it has been turned on its head post-pandemic.

Masks are now mandatory, distance must be kept and sanitisation is a must.

Now, the next time you head to Dubai airport to fly with Emirates, there may be even more changes that will be alien to you.

The Dubai-based airline has introduced a contactless airport experience for passengers going from and through the emirate. Facial biometric technology has become the new norm for Emirates passengers as they board their flights when travelling through the airport.

Facial and iris integration has become a part of the entire process from check-in, immigration formalities, entering the Emirates Lounge and the overall airport experience. All it takes to register is a quick photo at check-in to capture your facial data. Then you can breeze through the secure Biometric Smart Zones in Concourse B, Emirates Terminal 3 every time you’re in Dubai.

More kiosks are to be introduced for the First and Business check-in areas in the coming weeks.

As digital menus also available on the Emirates app now, passengers now have the facilities to browse through on their personal devices, both online and offline, without having to purchase the Emirates’ Wi-Fi internet packages.

In addition, the app has a playlist with over 4,500 channels along with inflight entertainment on ice by syncing it to their personal screens on board. Moving forward, guests are able to control their inflight entertainment with their own personal devices.
