If you were hesitant to dine out since the lockdown rules have been lifted, don’t be as the Dubai royals feel confident in what the restaurants are doing to keep their guests safe.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday afternoon enjoyed lunch at one of the most popular Greek restaurants in the city, Gaia.
Founded by Chef Izu Ani, the DIFC hotspot has recently reopened its doors after temporary closing during the height of COVID-19 in the city. Since restaurants have been allowed to reopen under strict guidelines, Gaia is back in business serving up a fresh take on Mediterranean cuisine including seafood orzo, baked feta cheese, indulgent truffle potatoes and the unmissable mille-feuille that is nothing like you’ve ever tried before – trust us.
Sheikh Mohammed has been hands-on throughout the ups and downs of coronavirus in Dubai, especially when it comes to frontline workers. He has and for those who are risking their lives to control the pandemic in the city, and has been working on the post-COVID plan.
So if anyone knows that it’s safe to enjoy a meal out, it’s the Dubai ruler. If you need further convincing, his son HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, dined at the same restaurant last week.
