One of the biggest humanitarian concerts in the world is coming to Dubai

Expect a star studded line-up

Dubai has been chosen as one of seven cities to be part of , an event overseen by Global Citizen movement.

Taking place on 26 September, the charity concert will welcome performers, artist and activists to take part in a 10-hour global broadcast with the aim to reach the Dhs1.28 trillion annual goal needed to end extreme poverty by 2030.

The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos by His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, the UAE’s minister of cabinet affairs and the future and secretary general of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).

“We could not be more excited to see Global Goal Live heading to Dubai, and for the campaign’s first-ever live event in the Middle East. Ending extreme poverty is a global effort, which will require input and advocacy from leaders across every continent. We are proud to count The Emirates as part of this movement,” said Hugh Evans, co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen.

Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Pharrell Williams, Shawn Mendes, and Usher have already confirmed that they will be taking part in the global event, but the line-up for Dubai is yet to be revealed – but we expect big names.

“Hosting  in September reflects The Emirates’ humanitarian efforts to eradicate worldwide poverty,” explains  His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi. “The Emirates is pushing a transition in humanitarian efforts towards greater utilization of technology to empower communities driven by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.”
