The decision on whether schools will reopen for the next academic year in September is yet to be made.
As it was previously confirmed, e-learning will continue for the rest of the academic year, but the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday that the decision to end online learning and reopen schools for pupils to return after summer was “still under review”.
“The appropriate decision will be taken based on the health situation and precautionary measures,” the ministry said on Twitter.
has reported there has been three scenarios laid out by the Ministry of Education a present. Firstly, if the COVID-19 pandemic was to prevail and no improvements were to be made, online learning for 100 per cent of students would continue.

The second scenario involves a transitional phase, which depends on whether the UAE begins to see the virus dissipate and the country recover. This would involve children returning to 30 to 50 per cent normality in their education schedule.
The third and final scenario is dependent on general life returning to normal by September, with COVID-19 totally under control. A few e-learning models will remain in tact, with 70 per cent learning to be direct, with the remaining 30 per cent to be in e-learning form. According to Gulf News, this is “so that technological development and the transition to digital education can be maintained”.
