Wellness tech is evolving fast, getting smaller, sleeker and smarter by the day. In a world where AI is decoding our health data in real time, Samsung’s latest innovation has taken things to a whole new level. The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a wearable that promises all the insights of a smartwatch, from sleep to steps, in one minimalist, futuristic loop. A tiny piece of tech doing the most. So, obviously, we had to try it out.
Tests It
I’m a smartwatch devotee, mostly for health tracking and period insights, but on a recent walking safari with limited charging and patchy signal, I finally got to give this ring a proper test. In all honesty, it made me realise I kind of miss the simplicity of not having a screen on my wrist.
On the trip, there was no constant screen tapping or buzzing notifications, just quiet tracking. It recorded my steps, heart rate and sleep while I was off-grid, letting me catch up on the data later. When you want to disconnect without losing your metrics, this ring is a perfect fit. Plus, it looks so stylish you’d never guess it’s a smart ring.
If sleep tracking is your top priority, you’ll love this one. The Galaxy Ring has built quite a reputation for its sleep insights and Samsung claims it’s one of the most accurate devices in its category.
Here’s what it’s like to live, move and sleep with Samsung’s smartest piece of jewellery yet, plus a few tips on how to style it.

What Is The Samsung Galaxy Ring?
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a 24/7 health and fitness tracker that wraps discreetly around your finger instead of sitting on your wrist. Because it measures data directly from the arteries in your finger, it can offer more precise readings without the bulk of a screen or straps.
What Does The Samsung Galaxy Ring Do?
This small but mighty ring tracks your activity, sleep, heart rate, stress levels and menstrual cycle, then translates that data into personalised insights within the Samsung Health app. It also calculates an Energy Score, an all-in-one summary of how well your body is doing based on recovery, activity and sleep.
Samsung Galaxy Ring Review
Every purchase comes with a free sizing kit, sent before the ring itself. The kit includes plastic samples in sizes 5 to 13 so you can find your perfect fit (snug but not tight, ideally on your non-dominant index finger). Once you’ve locked in your size, Samsung ships the device. Watch this.
Unboxing feels like unwrapping something from the future. The transparent charging case steals the show. A glowing LED loop indicates your battery level and the ring itself looks impossibly sleek sitting in its little pod.
Set-up is simple. Download the Samsung Health app, connect via Bluetooth and you’re ready to go. You can tailor your experience by adding activity goals, preferred workouts and notification settings. The app even lets you fine-tune when it tracks inactivity, so it doesn’t nag you during a coffee with your friend.
What finger should I put the ring on?
Samsung recommends your index finger for the most accurate readings and best gesture control. There is a small raised mark on the ring to indicate the correct orientation; line this ridge up with the centre of the base of your finger to ensure the sensors are perfectly positioned.
Comfort
According to tech reviewers, this is one of the most comfortable smart rings on the market. As someone who doesn’t typically wear rings, it felt a little awkward at first – especially while sleeping (and yes, I do sleep with my hands over my face), but after a few days, I was completely accustomed to it. It genuinely starts to feel like any other accessory you wear permanently, like a favourite pair of earrings.
Charging and battery life
Samsung claims the battery lasts up to seven days and that’s spot-on. Even with daily wear and sleep tracking, mine lasted around six days per charge. It charges wirelessly in about 90 minutes.
The charging case doubles as a visual indicator. The LED ring lights up to show either the ring’s battery (when inside) or the case’s level (when empty).

Features Worth Noting
The ring is loaded with cutting-edge functions, but here are the ones I tested and found most insightful:
Sleep tracking and coaching
Wear it overnight and you’ll get detailed breakdowns of your sleep stages, blood oxygen fluctuations and even snore detection (yes, really). You’ll also receive a daily sleep score and optional coaching to improve your rest quality over time.
Energy Score
As Taylor Swift said in a recent podcast interview, we should treat our energy like currency. And honestly, tracking it might just be one of the smartest wellness moves you can make. Samsung’s Energy Score gives you a daily snapshot of how your body’s really doing – from how well you slept to how active you’ve been and how your heart’s responding to it all.
It’s like a quick ‘ check-in, translated into a single, easy-to-understand number. You’ll start noticing what drains you, where you might need to catch up and how different habits actually affect your day-to-day energy.
Menstrual Cycle Tracking
The Galaxy Ring can predict your period using your skin temperature. This is a feature you can choose to switch on, or leave off if you prefer.
The tracking (powered by Natural Cycles) is said to be more accurate if you wear the ring at night. It’s worth noting that this feature is not intended for contraceptive use or pregnancy planning and Samsung recommends that you don’t use this data for medical purposes either.
Stress Level Tracking
The ring constantly monitors your biodata to keep tabs on your stress levels. You can tap into this section in the app to find your stress peaks mapped on a graph, alongside your average stress level illustrated on a colourful sliding scale. The advice on managing stress in the ring’s section is fairly minimal, but you can access breathing exercises within the main Samsung Health app.

How To Style It
Keep it Minimalist
If your style is Scandi-chic, keep the ring as the only piece of jewellery on that hand for a clean, futuristic look. We recommend the Titanium Black here.
The Power Stack
Embrace the maximalist trend by layering! Stack the Galaxy Ring with a few thin, delicate gold or silver bands on the surrounding fingers. Stacking inspo by @nataleezyy on TikTok.
Mix Your Metals
Don’t be afraid to pair the ring’s titanium finish with other jewellery. A chunky gold statement ring on the opposite hand creates a fantastic, edgy contrast.
