With any trend that emerges, there’s always an ebb and flow that comes along with it, with people putting their own stamps on said craze.
And it seems the #QuarantinePillowChallenge, which went viral last month, is no exception as there’s now a new modest twist emerging from it – and we’re totally here for it.
While at the beginning of self-isolation influencers were showcasing their styling habits with just a pillow and a simple belt, sans nothing else it wasn’t exactly super inviting for anyone who opts to dress modestly.
However, British-Egyptian blogger Dina Torkia, who has 1.3 million followers on Instagram, decided to give the viral challenge a slight reboot.
Dina decided to style up her black pillow, using other black clothing items playing with textures and shades. Paring the pillow with a pair of black jeans, a long-sleeved chiffon black ruffled top and a leather belt, the blogger produced an outfit that could even be fashion week worthy.
Keeping it playful and fun whilst being stuck at home, Dina put her hair in a pair of space buns and kept her footwear comfortable with a pair of sneakers.
Meanwhile Russian violinist Aishat Atakova went for a more girly twist on the modest version of the #QuarantinePillowChallenge.
Aishat’s pastel pink look featured a frilled lace pillow, a blouse with statement ruffled sleeves, pink legging, nude heels and a statement vintage parasol.
UK-based fashion and travel blogger Aisha Altayeb also joined in on the challenge wearing a striped pillow belted with a Gucci belt along with jeans, a black top and her hijab.
While it’s a challenge just for a bit of fun Aisha admitted she’s “actually loving it and I think it looks totally stylish”.
We second that.
