As Dubai officially welcomed back tourists and visitors yesterday on July 7, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Taking to Twitter, the Crown Prince of Dubai revealed he “oversaw preparations” at Dubai International Airport as the emirate begins to welcome back tourists.
“Today I oversaw preparations at [Dubai International Airport] as Dubai began welcoming international tourists,” His Highness said. “I also observed the various precautionary measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all travellers and the community.”

Alongside his statement, Sheikh Hamdan also shared a video where he was seen inspecting the airport – where he was wearing a face mask as is required by everyone – to see what preparations were in place, and being informed of what was going on by airport staff.
Sheikh Hamdan also took to the opportunity to share reassurance about Dubai’s position in the global travel network stating that for a long time it has been the number one hub worldwide for travel.
“For many years, [Dubai International Airport] has ranked first as the world’s busiest hub for international passenger traffic,” he. said. “With our teams’ outstanding efforts, we will retain this ranking. We strongly believe in our ability to reinforce Dubai’s outstanding position in global travel and tourism.”

Dubai is welcoming tourists with open arms as borders reopen, with visitors receiving a new sticker on their passports was unveiled reading, “A warm welcome to your second home.”
Speaking on borders reopening to visitors, Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, said tourists were “always welcome”.
“We welcome all tourists and visitors to the country through Dubai Airports,” he said. “They are always welcome in their second country and we are ready to facilitate their procedures based on the highest levels of safety.”
In order to ensure the health and safety of all travellers, UAE citizens and UAE residents when entering Dubai, there are many precautionary measures in place.
Similarly, before boarding your flight to Dubai ensure you have all the necessary documents needed for entering the country including a health declaration form and a negative COVID-19 test result prior to leaving your home country.
You can also opt for a PCR test once landing in Dubai, but be prepared to quarantine until you receive a negative test for COVID-19.
