Discussing the current climate during the global coronavirus pandemic, Gigi admitted it’s actually been a “silver lining” to be spending time at home with Zayn, her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and her sister, Bella Hadid. They’re all currently self-isolating in Pennsylvania where Gigi and her family have a farm.
“During this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home together and really experience it day by day,” she admitted.
According to , Gigi and Zayn, 27, are set to welcome a baby girl in the coming months – Gigi is estimated to be around 20 weeks pregnant.
Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, confirmed the news to Dutch broadcaster RTL last week, saying she was “thrilled” about becoming a grandmother, but was taken aback the “secret has been leaked to the press”.
“I can’t wait to become a grandmother,” she told the outlet, and also added her supermodel daughter is due to give birth in September.
“It is quite special, since I lost my own mother so recently,” she added. “That is the beauty of life: one soul is leaving us and another is coming. We feel very blessed.”
Zayn and Gigi originally started dating in 2016, and have been on-and-off ever since, with their latest split taking place in mid-2019. However, the pair reunited earlier this year, but have been keeping their romance away from the public glare.
Gigi did subtly confirm they were back together in February on Instagram, posting a sweet snap of her boyfriend on her ‘Gi’sposables’ account on Valentine’s Day.
