Priyanka Chopra & Deepika Padukone are among the most admired women in the world

According to a new YouGov survey

YouGov is a British international Internet-based market research and data analytics firm, and their latest survey revealed the most admired women globally. Making the top of the list is former former First Lady and current best-selling author, Michelle Obama.

The survey gave us insight into the 20 most admired women in the world. The company’s methodology involves obtaining responses from an invited group of Internet users, and then weighting these responses in line with demographic information. It draws these demographically-representative samples from a panel of 5 million people worldwide including over 800,000 people in the UK.

In this year results, Michelle Obama jumps to first place, replacing Marvel’s newest super-heroine, Angelina Jolie off the top spot and down to number three. Coming in second is iconic television host Oprah Winfrey. Other influential figures who made the list are: young female education activist, Malala Yousafzai (who is the youngest person to rank on either the women’s or men’s lists) ;  actress and women’s rights activist, Emma Watson; and the ruler of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II.

Not only that, but the list features a number of Bollywood stars. It includes newlywed Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone ,Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai. Sen is a new comer to the list; however, the three other women have made an appearance in the past. Other than the Indian actress, there is a host of other newcomers on the list. From China, Peng Liyuan, the Chinese folk singer and the wife of Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the China’s Communist Party, has made the list for the first time. Also, other first-timers are Chinese scientist Tu Youyou, comedian and host Ellen DeGeneres and current US First Lady Melania Trump.
