5 Outfit Ideas for Every Type of Summer Concert

We like to switch up our summer plans every year, but something that is always on our bucket list is a concert. The warm weather, long nights, and super cute outfits make it the perfect season to book tickets to your favorite artists or drink some Coronas at your local concert venue. Since summer should be effortless, we thought we’d do you a solid and take care of the most difficult decision you’ll have to make all season: what to wear (we’ve all had the moment of standing in a closet full of clothes and saying, I have literally nothing to wear, right?).

Our favorite one-stop shop for all things fashion and beauty, Nordstrom, is also our go-to for affordable and trendy pieces we’ll want to add to our wardrobe every season. Stylish brands like BP, Halogen, and Something Navy are affordable, fashion-forward, and only available through Nordstrom. They’re the perfect ways for fashion girls on a budget to try out the it-pieces of the season, without having to spend major $$$.

With the easiest and trendiest outfit formulas summer 2019 has to offer and affordable brands that take all the guesswork out of style, the only decision you’ll have to make this season is whether to order a glass of rosé or a margarita. Here are the outfit formulas and pieces we’ll be wearing all summer long:

So you’ve done the seemingly impossible and secured a date that’s way more fun than Netflix and Chill, and it’s already a good sign that they share your music taste — you go, girl! Whether it’s the first date or hundredth, stand out from the crowd in an on-trend mini dress in a stylish print (we love leopard print or big florals for the season), paired with a white blazer and pretty accessories.

The most casual concerts call for comfortable outfits that are perfect for picnicking in the grass, flexible enough for hot days or cool nights, and, most importantly, allow you to dance all night long. A button-up midi dress is one of our favorite it-pieces of the season, paired with stylish and chic white sneakers, a straw purse, and a classic denim jacket in case the temps drop lower as the sun goes down.

You know that concert you’ve been looking forward to all season long? Maybe it’s Taylor Swift whose album you’ve been waiting on for months, or the Jonas Brothers who you’ve been waiting on since, like, 2011. Either way, it’s hard to pick out an outfit for the concert of the season — you want to dance your heart out comfortably, but also want to look cute enough so you can brag about your night on Instagram (aka hope Nick Jonas looks at the post you tagged him in). A crop top, high-waisted skirt, and retro accessories are the comfortable, yet stylish look you’ve been searching for. Add in off-the-moment flats with geometric details, and you’re ready to party like it’s 2011.

A fancy summer night out calls for sleek sophistication with fun details. If you’ve scored tickets to the symphony or are invited to a concert at a fancy venue, don’t sacrifice comfort for style — achieve both with a moveable jumpsuit in a neutral color that has trendy details like a one-shoulder strap and geometric neckline. Pair the look with nude heels and attention-grabbing accessories that are appropriate for any occasion, but stylish enough to impress even the fanciest of fashion girls.

Whether Jimmy Buffet or Zac Brown Band is more your vibe, chances are you’re going to some kind of concert this summer. I mean, is it even summer if you don’t picnic with rosé while listening to live music!? For a carefree outfit that’s stylish enough to crush it in pictures with your girl gang, opt for summer 2019’s it-style of denim: the wide leg pant. With a casual button up, trendy shoes, and a stylish straw bag, your outfit is as breezy as the weather.
