We at EW HQ love discovering new restaurants in Dubai, and the latest venue on our hit list is Kayto.
Located in Jumeriah Al Naseem, the temporary pop-up offers a contemporary blend of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine known as “Nikkei”. The menu is being overseen by Japanese-Argentinian chef Cristian Goya, and we can confirm that it’s definitely worth the money
With a buzzing atmosphere, outdoor shisha space and plenty of bespoke cocktails, it is the place to see and be seen. We kicked off with sharing plates of tuna and truffle as well as sea bass ceviches, roasted langoustines in a sweet and sour sauce, tuna tar tar on a bed of crispy rice. Fresh and full of flavour.
The main courses followed and included Saikyo miso black cod, Australian wagyu beef tataki and dover sole with a side of prawn rice, truffle mash and steamed vegetables.
But the best was yet to come. Alongside the delicious fusion of Nikkei flavours, Kayto has an impressive selection of desserts which perfectly compliment the dinner menu. Our list of sweet treats included cheesecake Brûlée served with mandarin sorbet, chocolate molten cake with hazelnut ice cream on top as well as a mixed berry crumble.
The interiors look as good as the food with plush pink furnishing, marble tables, gold-frame chairs and full-length windows offering impressive views of the Burj Khalifa. What’s not to love?
